Van Dyk says Fever defenders crossed the line

The Silver Ferns shooting legend Irene van Dyk accused the West Coast Fever of dirty play after the Perth-based team defeated the reigning trans-Tasman netball champions Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in a major boilover.

The Fever ended the Magic's 14 game winning streak yesterday with a 57-51 victory in the third round of the ANZ, the first time the Normal Plummer coached side has ever beaten the Magic.

Star English import Eboni Beckford-Chambers and defensive partner Josie Janz put on a tough, physical performance, which restricted Van Dyk to just 15 goals from 19 attempts.

Van Dyk says the pair crossed the line and says she has never come across players getting away with such physical play.

Last night the Queensland Firebirds defeated the Northern Mystics 72-51.
