Hansen reappointed All Blacks coach

5:26 pm on 10 April 2013

Steve Hansen has been reappointed as All Blacks coach through to the 2015 World Cup.

Hansen was initially appointed head coach on a two-year contract following the 2011 World Cup.

The All Blacks lost just one of their 14 tests last year, won the Rugby Championship and retained the Bledisloe Cup.

NZRU chief executive Steve Tew says Hansen's reappointment was fully endorsed by the NZRU board.

Tew says going back-to-back in the Rugby World Cup is one of the key goals for the organisation over the next three years and they look forward to working with Hansen and the rest of the All Blacks team to help them achieve that goal.

Hansen says their focus as always will be on enhancing the All Blacks legacy.

He says in doing that, it will be about not only winning test matches today but also making sure they have the experience and personnel to win test matches tomorrow and beyond.

Hansen will continue to work with the same coaching staff and management team with Darren Shand reappointed as manager.

Dr Tony Page takes over from Dr Deb Robinson as All Blacks doctor.
