Shane Watson has stood down from his role as Australian cricket vice-captain across all formats of the game.
The all-rounder struggled for form in Australia's recent 4-0 test series loss in India and was disciplined for failing to complete a team assignment.
Watson says he is making the move to concentrate on his own form, ahead of the squad announcement for the Ashes series in England. The Ashes begins in July.
