Gwen Jorgensen's made history as the first American woman to win a World Series triathlon race, and it came at the sport's spiritual home in San Diego.
Jorgensen beat Great Britain's Non Stanford and Australia's Emma Moffatt to the line - Christchurch's Andrea Hewitt was sixth.
Hewitt's fifth in the overall rankings - Auckland winner Ann Haug of Germany leads. Jorgensen is sixth overall.
