The elite Champions League football final looks set to be an all-German affair, following Borussia Dortmund's 4-1 rout of Real Madrid at home in Germany.

Striker Robert Lewandowski scored all four goals in the semi-final, first leg - which is an all-time European record for any player against the Spanish giants and nine-time winners.

The shock rout also makes a lie of the value of each team, with Real's starting XI costing almost $622 million, while Dortmund's starting XI cost just $52 million.

On Wednesday Barcelona were given an even bigger hiding in the first leg of their semi-final, thrashed 4-0 by the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, also in Germany.
