Lemanis excited about Boomers challenge

Having just led the Breakers to a hat-trick of Australian National Basketball league titles, coach Andrej Lemanis has resigned.

Lemanis is to become the coach of the Australian national side the Boomers after eight years on the coaching staff at the Auckland club.

He says he's proud of what he's achieved at the club and while he leaves with a heavy heart he's honoured to have been given the chance to take over the Australian side.

The Breakers are yet to appoint a replacement for Lemanis although his assistant Dean Vickerman is expected to take up the role with general manager Richard Clarke saying an announcement on the head coaching job will be made in a couple of days.
