The All Blacks Sevens captain DJ Forbes will miss the upcoming Glasgow and London legs of the world series tournament because of a foot injury.

Forbes suffered the injury at last month's Tokyo tournament and Tim Mikkelson will take over as captain.

Returning from injury is last year's international player of the year Tomasi Cama, who missed Hong Kong and Tokyo, and Kurt Baker who hasn't played since the Wellington tournament.

The 20-year-old back Pita Ahki. a member of the Blues wider training group, is the only new cap in the squad.

Coach Gordon Tietjens says he expects Forbes to be fit in time for the World Cup in Moscow in June.

New Zealand has a comfortable lead at the top of the world series ladder.
