Moscow to install metal detectors along marathon course

Organisers of the world athletics championships later this year in Moscow have decided to increase security in the wake of last week's Boston marathon bombings by installing metal detectors for spectators along the entire marathon course.

The long-serving Russian athletics chief Valentin Balakhnichyov says Moscow will have a triple level of protection for athletes and spectators during the nine-day world championships which start in the secodn week of August.
