The New Zealand Warriors are dead last on the National Rugby League ladder after the seventh round.

The Warriors' ANZAC Day loss at Melbourne kept the champion Storm side on top with seven straight wins and has the Auckland side rock bottom thanks to a minus 70 points difference.

The Bulldogs climbed off the bottom thanks to a 24-8 victory over the Cronulla Sharks on Sunday.

The North Queensland Cowboys saw off the Canberra Raiders 30-12 at home to sit in mid-table, while there were also wins on the weekend for the Brisbane Broncos over the struggling Wests Tigers, the Newcastle Knights knocked off the visiting Gold Coast Titans.

South Sydney are second and the Rabbitohs appear genuine Premiership contenders after beating Manly 20-12 on Friday.
