Panthers crush Eels

The Penrith Panthers have thrashed the Parramatta Eels 44-12 in Monday night's National Rugby League clash at Sydney's Centrebet Stadium.

Two players not good enough to make the NRL media guide and a playmaker recycled from the NSW Cup starred as Penrith's patched-up outfit ran in eight tries to end a five-match losing streak in style.

Winger Travis Robinson scored a double including one with his first touch of the ball and 21-year-old debutant fullback Matt Moylan provided the crucial pass for three tries, whiile they were brilliantly steered around the paddock by Luke Walsh, whose pinpoint kicking game left onlookers baffled as to just how he could have been dumped to the New South Wales Cup just a few weeks ago.

He only got a reprieve thanks to the injury crisis engulfing the club, but on this performance it's clear coach Ivan Cleary has plenty of talent to work with.
