The Highlanders have broken an eight match losing streak by posting their first win of the Super Rugby season in a nail biting 25-22 victory over the Sharks last night at Dunedin.
Both teams scored three tries and were only seperated by a Colin Slade penalty.
Brad Thorn brought up his hundredth Super Rugby game with the victory, but he had to watch it from the sin bin after he was yellow carded with three minutes to play, as the Sharks threw everything at the Highlanders' line.
Presented with a pounamu mere after the match the centurion said he's honored to represent the region where he was born and to play in front of his people.
