A resilient Manly sealed their first NRL away win over St George Illawarra in a decade last night, grinding out a 24-18 win, after scoring three tries in the opening 20 minutes.

Two New South Wales State of Origin candidates were injured during the match. Manly's fullback Brett Stewart left the field just before halftime with a hip injury, and the Dragon's Brett Morris went off with a potentially serious injury to his left knee.

Manly are in fourth place after round 8, and St George-Illawarra are 12th.
