The Otago Nuggets have won their fifth straight National Basketball League game, defeating the Waikato Pistons 97-74 in Dunedin to move to the top of the table.
League-leading scorer Beny Anthony made 26 points for the home side, while small forward Akeem Wright also scored 26 as Otago never looked like they were going to lose.
The Nuggets led by 22 points at half-time and keep the struggling Pistons winless from three games.
Three other games will be played Saturday, with the Nelson Giants (3-2) against the Wellington Saints (5-1), the Hawke's Bay Hawks (1-3) play the Super City Rangers (0-5) and the Taranaki Mountain Airs (2-3) host the Manawatu Jets (3-2).
