The Warriors winger Manu Vatuvei has signed a new contract with the Auckland-based National Rugby League club, that'll take him through to the end of the 2015 season.

In doing so he'll extend his career to 12 consecutive seasons with the club.

Vatuvei, who was off-contract at the end of this season, has been the subject of much speculation about his playing future.

His manager Peter Brown fielded expressions of interest from other NRL clubs, English Super League clubs and also from rugby union.

Coach Matt Elliott says believes Vatuvei's best football is still ahead of him and doesn't believe Vatuvei is a one dimensional player.

He doesn't want him being used as a battering ram and feels the side relies too heavily on him.

The Warriors moved off the bottom of the NRL table at the weekend with a win over the Gold Coast Titans and play the Canterbury Bulldogs in Wellington on Saturday.
