Former Black Caps skipper wants his old job back

The sacked New Zealand cricket captain Ross Taylor wants his old job back but he's told the Daily Mirror newspaper he's over his sacking.

Taylor was sacked by Black Caps coach Mike Hesson during last year's tour of Sri Lanka.

He withdrew from the subsequent tour of South Africa, returning to play against England in the drawn domestic test series, though he conceded his relationship with Hesson was strained.

But Taylor says he's now getting on well with Hesson and his captaincy replacement, Brendon McCullum.

Taylor joined the side in England at the weekend after playing in the Indian Premier League, which he says gave him time to reflect and get over his disappointment.

At 29 he says he's still young and has plenty of time to captain the team again.
