Australian Adam Hansen took a solo victory on stage seven of the Giro d'Italia on Friday and Spain's Benat Intxausti became the new overall leader.
Italy's Enrico Battaglin finished second behind Lotto Belisol rider Hansen on the hilly stage from Marina di San Salvo to Pescara, with compatriot Danilo Di Luca in third.
