Cricket Australia's chief executive James Sutherland has hinted that money won't be the sole consideration when it comes to finalising the sport's lucrative new media rights deal.
But the game is on the verge of cashing in on a rights battle between the rival Nine and Ten networks.
Nine have held the rights for the Australian summer for 36 years, but reports suggest they have about a month to match a massive $500 million offer from Network Ten if they wish to continue televising cricket for the foreseeable future.
The financial windfall from the broadcast deal will set up Australian cricket for the next five years.
