Warriors coach safe after record loss

The Warriors coach Matt Elliott looks to be safe in his job, despite the side's poor performances in his first National Rugby League season with the club.

Elliott's side have managed just two wins from their first 10 games, with their most recent loss a record-breaking 62-6 hammering against the Penrith Panthers in Sydney last weekend.

Their previous coach, Brian McClennan, was sacked last year during his first season after six straight losses, but the Warriors' chief executive, Wayne Scurrah denied that had set the precedent.

He says everyone has to take responsibility for the side's poor results, but says Elliott has the full support of club management.

Scurrah says the coach didn't have long to prepare for the season and is planning on making a number of personnel changes.
