Former All Blacks coach lashes out at referees

The former All Blacks coach Sir Graham Henry has lashed out at the standard of refereeing in the Super Rugby competition.

Henry, who's now an assistant coach with the Blues, made the comments in the wake of the Blues' loss to the Crusaders at the weekend.

The Blues were stung by the controversial disallowing of a try to winger Frank Halai and the sin-binning of lock Callum Retallick for a deliberate knock-down.

Those decisions have left Henry fuming and he says referees are so caught up looking for technicalities, they're missing straightforward calls.

Henry concedes the Crusaders deserved to win but is frustrated that key calls went against his side.
