The South Sydney player Ben Te'o will remain in contention for the Queensland State of Origin rugby league side until investigations into assault allegations against him are completed.

A Brisbane woman has alleged Te'o punched her in the face, fracturing her eye socket last month, a claim Te'o has denied.

No complaint has been laid nor are charges pending against Te'o, with police confirming they're no longer investigating the incident.

Queensland coach Mal Meninga says Te'o is innocent until proven otherwise and he won't be be excluded from Maroons selection unless a National Rugby League investigation takes the matter further.
