Organisers of the French Tennis Open say they've banned the father and coach of the young Australian Bernard Tomic from attending the tournament in Paris.

John Tomic has already had his tournament credentials withdrawn by tennis authorities after being charged with assaulting his son's training partner, the Frenchman Thomas Drouet, early this month in Madrid.

It was thought Tomic senior could, and would, still attend the tournament as a paying spectator, but officials have told staff to refuse him entry.
