Nike drops Lance Armstrong charity

Sportswear manufacturer, Nike, has dropped its sponsorship for the Lance Armstrong-founded charity, the Livestrong Foundation.

Nike has supported the foundation for nine-years and helped raise more than 100-million-dollars.

Armstrong founded the cancer charity in 1997 after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, but he stepped down from Livestrong after being stripped of his cycling titles last year amid accusations that he used performance-enhancing drugs.

The charity's contract with Nike will conclude at the end of 2014 and not be renewed.
