Martinez becomes Everton's new manager

6:26 am on 6 June 2013

As the newly appointed manager of Everton, Roberto Martinez has pledged to introduce the Premier League club to Champions league football.

Martinez, who has forged a reputation for making the best of limited resources and playing attractive football, has signed a four-year contract to succeed David Moyes, who has taken over from the retired Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

The Spaniard arrives at Everton fresh from leading Wigan to FA Cup glory and his new club will hope he can do the same for them after Moyes failed to land a trophy in his 11 years at the helm.
