Canada maintained their winning start to their maiden IRB Pacific Nations rugby Cup campaign with an impressive 20-18 victory over Fiji in Ottawa.

Building on their opening win over the USA, Canada also achieved a further significant milestone - their first win over Fiji in a test match for 18 years.

It is also a strong statement ahead of the decisive Rugby World Cup 2015 qualifiers against USA in August.

Canada now top the IRB Pacific Nations Cup 2013 table with eight points after two matches. Fiji are second on six points after securing a losing bonus point.

Next up Canada play Tonga in Kingston and then Tonga play the USA in California before the action moves to Japan for the remaining four matches.

Japan's hosting is a key opportunity to showcase Test match Rugby and engage the Japanese public ahead of hosting Rugby World Cup 2019.
