Ko struggling at US LPGA

The teenage Auckland golfer Lydia Ko is in danger of missing the cut at the LPGA championship in New York.

Ko shot a five over par 77 opening round in the rain-delayed tournament, Ko's fourth major event.

The 16-year-old's quest to become the youngest winner in major history looks unlikely at the Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, where after the first round, Ko is tied for 92nd, 10 strokes behind the leader, South Korea's Chella Choi.
