The Warriors coach Matt Elliott has praised his side for the quality they showed in their 18-16 NRL win over Manly on Sunday.

Down 12-0, the Warriors clawed their way back before going in front and holding on to record their third straight win for the first time since July 2011 and it was their first win over Manly in the last seven games between the two sides.

Elliott says the performance and the attitude they displayed was crucial for the development of this side.

He says it really makes next week's game against the Roosters in Sydney, their most important game of the season.

The Warriors' fifth win of the season takes them up to 13th on the table.
