The Miami Heat have rebounded from their opening loss in the NBA basketball finals to crush the San Antonio Spurs 103-84 in game two and square the best-of-seven series.

After a first half that mirrored the tight nature of game one, Miami broke away in the third and headed into the final quarter with a 75-65 lead.

League MVP LeBron James was strangely ineffective on attack in the early stages, but came alive late in the third to finish with 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Mario Chalmers top scored for Miami with 19 points while Danny Green's 17 points were the best for the Spurs.

San Antonio's game one standout Tony Parker was limited to 13 points on five from 14 shooting.

The series now heads to San Antonio for the next three games.
