9:23 am on 16 June 2013

The Black Sticks Men remain undefeated at the World League Semi-Final in Rotterdam after a 4-2 win over Ireland.

With the game locked up at one goal apiece at halftime, the Kiwis raised the intensity to pull away in the second half with three more goals sealing the result.

Nick Haig, Blair Hilton and Andy Hayward were on the score sheet for New Zealand along with an Ireland own goal.

The Black Sticks Men play their third and final pool game against India onTuesday morning before heading into a do-or-die cross-over playoff.

The top three men's and women's teams from the World League Semi-Final automatically qualify for the 2014 Hockey World Cup, although it is possible to earn qualification at the tournament with a lower ranking.

New Zealand can still qualify in other ways as well, with the next opportunity coming at the Oceania Cup in Taranaki this October.

Black Sticks 4: (Own Goal, Nick Haig, Blair Hilton, Andy Hayward)

Ireland 2: (Alan Sothern, Michael Watt)
