Welsh players dominate British and Irish Lions test lineup

The British and Irish Lions coach Warren Gatland has chosen eight of his Welsh players in the tourists' starting lineup for Saturday night's first Test against the Wallabies in Brisbane.

Gatland, who led Wales to the 2011 World Cup semi-finals and two Six Nations grand slams, has also named Welshman Sam Warburton as captain.

Irish centre Brian O'Driscoll and first five-eighth Jonathan Sexton are the only two non-Welsh players in the backline.

The starting 15 includes just three Englishman in the forwards.

Former Crusaders winger now Scotland international Sean Maitland has been named in the reserves.
