Cricket remains Australia's favourite sport, according to a new report, but rugby league has enjoyed a rebound in popularity.
About a third of Australia's 13 million sports fans are estimated to follow cricket, with tennis close behind.
Rugby league sits equal second as most popular - up two spots from last year.
The study, by digital media company Perform, ranked AFL the fourth most-followed sport, ahead of football and swimming.
Australian sport fans watch an average of 8.5 hours each week, with TV, newspapers/magazines and websites the most used methods of consumption.
The report's findings are based on interviews with more than 1000 Australian adults.
