Rabbitohs rule over Roosters

South Sydney have extended their lead at the top of the National Rugby League, but the neighbouring Roosters have reminded everyone of their title credentials with an impressive win against Canterbury following a dip in form.

The Rabbitohs' 30-10 victory over bottom-of-the-table Parramatta yesterday pulled them three points clear of second-placed Melbourne, who play at Gold Coast tonight.

The third-placed Roosters moved within one point of the Storm with a 20-18 win over the Bulldogs on Friday.

Canberra missed a chance to rise from eighth to fourth with a 17-12 loss to the lowly Tigers at Campbelltown.

It was the Raiders seventh loss in eight away games.
