Black Caps and England seeking consolation after Champions Trophy tournament

6:16 pm on 25 June 2013

New Zealand and England will both be looking for some consolation in the first of two Twenty20 cricket matches tonight at the Oval in London.

The Blacks Caps failed to get past the group stage of the recent Champions Trophy one day competition while England are struggling to come to terms with letting the title slip from their grasp, after losing to India in the final.

The Black Caps enjoyed a 42 run win over county side Kent in a warm up match ahead of tonight's game.

The second Twenty20 game against England on Friday is also at the Oval and will bring to an end the side's seven week tour.

Meanwhile fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan has named in the Champions Trophy Tournament Team.

McClenaghan took eleven wickets in three matches, just one less than leading wicket taker Ravindra Jadeja of India, despite playing two fewer games.
