The South African Super Rugby franchise the Sharks have confirmed the departure of their New Zealand head coach John Plumtree with immediate effect, six weeks before his scheduled exit.
It was announced earlier this month that Plumtree would end his 10-year association with the franchise at the end of this season, but after meeting officials last night, both parties agreed to end their association.
The Sharks' newly-appointed Director of Rugby Brendan Venter is favourite to lead the Durban-based side in the final three matches of their campaign, starting with the Blues this weekend.
