Vettori happy with attack in abandoned game

The New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori says he's reasonably happy with the effort of his side in the field in their abandoned opening one-dayer against the West Indies in Queenstown.

Play was called off because of rain with the Windies 129 for 5 after 36 overs.

Vettori says he was very happy with the way Kyle Mills bowled and also in part the rest of the bowling attack, while their fielding was good.

He says getting Chris Gayle out cheaply was a positive and now they'll just have to make the most of a 4-match series starting in Christchurch on Saturday.

Gayle also credited the Black Caps attack, saying they bowled in the right areas against them.
