Tuitupou out for the season

9:30 am on 1 January 2009

The former Blues centre Sam Tuitupou will miss the rest of the English Premiership club rugby season after injurying his right knee playing for Worcester last week.

Tuitupou ruptured his right anterior cruciate ligament during Worcester's 16-16 draw at Newcastle.

Tuitupou, who has played nine times for the All Blacks, has scored 12 tries in his 35 appearances for the Warriors.

He will need reconstruction surgery but is expected to make a full recovery and be available for pre-season training next year.
