Daly welcome back in Australia

The controversial American golfer John Daly is welcome back in Australia, despite being suspended from his home US PGA Tour.

Daly says he's been suspended for six months by the PGA Tour for conduct that brought unwelcome publicity.

The tour does not discuss disciplinary action against its players and Daly says he is unsure when his suspension began but hopes it ends in May.

That would mean he played in Australia's three major tournaments recently while banned from the US circuit.

However, that does not appear to have been an issue for Australasian PGA Tour officials and Australian Masters promoter David Rollo of IMG says he'd be happy for the American to return.

Rollo says experiences with Daly were only positive.
