The New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic will face Spain's Nuria Llagostera Vives in the first round of the ASB Classic which starts on Monday in Auckland.
The 28-year-old Llagostera Vives is ranked 68 in the world with a career high of 35 in 2005.
Erakovic, who has never played Llagostera Vives, says she's nearly over the foot strain that troubled her late last year.
Meanwhile Dianne Hollands has beaten fellow New Zealander Kairangi Vano in three sets in the first round of qualifying for the tournament.
Hollands won 6-2,1-6, 6-4.
