The New Zealand cricket coach is demanding his batsmen be more responsible in building a one day innings.

After last Saturday's loss to the West indies in the rain reduced second one dayer in Christchurch Andy Moles says the top five batsmen need to go back to the basics of establishing an innings.

Meanwhile as a precaution Jacob Oram has been withdrawn from playing for his province Central Districts today.

Oram suffered an Achilles tendon strain on Saturday night.
