Nigel Clough has been appointed manager of the English football club Derby County, 37 years after his father Brian led them to the English league title.
Clough signed a three-and-a-half-year contract to replace Paul Jewell, who resigned last month. He will take charge of the Championship strugglers after tomorrow's League Cup semi-final, first leg against Manchester United.
The Derby chairman Adam Pearson says Clough has created a dynasty of his own over 10 years at Burton Albion.
Clough leaves Burton with the minor league club closing in on promotion to League Two.
The 42-year-old played under his father at Nottingham Forest. He also had spells at Liverpool and Manchester City.
For the past decade he has been player-manager of minor league side Burton Albion.
The charismatic Brian Clough managed Derby from 1967-73 and led the club from the second division to a league title.
Derby were relegated to the Championship last year and currently lie down in 18th place. They face Forest, managed by their former boss Billy Davies, in the fourth round of the FA Cup in late January.
Famously, the senior Clough, who died in 2004, guided Nottingham Forest to consecutive European Cup glory in 1979 and 1980.
Forest have since become the only English club to win the European Cup and be relegated to the third division.
They're now back up from but are struggling in the second division Championship; however Forest claimed a prize scalp in the third round of the FA Cup on the weekend when they downed the self-proclaimed richest club in the world, Manchester City, 3-0 at Eastlands.
