The Melbourne Victory replaced Adelaide United at the top of the A-League football ladder after beating the Southern Australians one-nil in a top of the table clash at the Telstra Dome.
Nick Ward scored the winning goal with an incisive header in the 58th minute to give Melbourne their third win over Adelaide in as many match-ups this season.
The result put the Victory two points clear of Adelaide at the head of the table after the Melbourne side completed three wins from their last three games.
