The New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori says the side would welcome the opportunity to play a third and possibly deciding Test against India when they tour in March.
Indian cricket authorities have asked New Zealand Cricket to include a third Test on the two-Test tour in the wake of India's tour of Pakistan being cancelled to due to security concerns.
Black Caps coach Andy Moles says the more Test cricket his players get the better and Vettori says while he hasn't spoken to New Zealand cricket about an extra Test he says the players would no doubt support it.
New Zealand has indicated a decision could be made on the third Test later this week.
