Haddin rested because of workload

The Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin will be rested from the two Twenty20 internationals against South Africa.

He has been replaced in the Australian side by West Australian Luke Ronchi.

Haddin's workload in Test series against India, New Zealand and the Proteas has led to the decision to rest him ahead of the five-match one-day series against South Africa beginning on Friday.

Australia's chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch says Brad arrived in Melbourne yesterday feeling the effects of his heavy workload over the past three months.

He says in accordance with the policy of managing the workloads of players involved in all three forms of the game, it was decided he would benefit from not playing in the two internationals.

Australia play South Africa in Twenty20 internationals at the MCG on Sunday and the Gabba on Tuesday.
