Hrbaty focused on Heineken Open

The Slovakian tennis player Dominic Hrbaty says his focus lies with the Heineken Open, and not the first grand slam of the year.

The former number 12 in the world saw his ranking plummet to 250 last year because of injury.

Instead of trying his luck in the Australian Open qualifiers, Hrbaty is instead in Auckland for the Heineken Open starting tomorrow.

Hrbaty says if he wins a round or two basically he can't make it to Melbourne in time for the qualifiers.

But he says he's concentrating on the Auckland tournament to win a couple of matches if it's possible.

He says if not he'll go to Melbourne and try to qualify.
