The New Zealander Peter Caughey has clinched his third World Superboat Championship.
The Cantabrian's time of 45.52 seconds at Featherston was enough to beat fellow Kiwi driver Leighton Minnell by more than one and a half seconds.
Caughey says this fantastic result hasn't come easy and a lot of hard work has gone into the boat.
He says the next challenge is be to capitalise on this result and entice a major sponsor for the 2010 World Superboat Championships in Australia.
