It has been revealed the Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif was deported from Dubai last year for possession of 0.24 grams of opium.

Documents of the Dubai Public Prosecutor obtained by the AP show Asif was caught with the substance in his wallet at Dubai airport in June last year after competing in the Indian Premier League.

Asif was then deported from Dubai by the attorney general which means the fast bowler can never return to the UAE.

The Pakistani speedster later tested positive for using the banned steroid nandrolone during the IPL and is still suspended from playing domestic and international cricket.
