Martin Johnson is set to recall some experienced faces in backs Mike Tindall and Mark Cueto when he names his 32-man England squad for the Six Nations.
Johnson went with a largely youthful squad during a November series where England were well-beaten by Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
However the former lock now appears set to redress a perceived imbalance in the make-up of his side.
Tindall, a World Cup winning teammate of Johnson, has been in good form for Gloucester as has Sale winger Cueto who was a member of the England side that lost the 2007 World Cup final to the Springboks.
