Golf's world number five Vijay Singh expects to be sidelined from the PGA Tour for the next three weeks after having surgery on his right knee.

The Fijian tore cartilege in the knee before winning last month's Chevron World Challenge, in California and was advised to have it repaired.

Singh, a three time major champion, expects to be on crutches for a few days but hopes to be back playing by mid February.
