Milan win as Kaka transfer situation drags on

1:34 pm on 18 January 2009

An Alexandre Pato goal has given AC Milan a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A football league.

But one of the features of the match at the San Siro was fans urging the club not to sell Brazilian Kaka to cash-rich Manchester City.

City have reportedly offered NZ $250 million for the former world player of the year.

Milan fans displayed banners such as "Kaka is Priceless" and "Hands Off Kaka", and sang "Don't Sell Kaka".

Meanwhile, loan signing David Beckham had a mixed home debut for Milan.

The Englishman was booked and misplaced a few passes but he also recovered a ricochet in the move that led to the Pato goal.

Milan now has 37 points from 19 games, six behind Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
