The Warriors have rejected a request from Kiwis halfback Nathan Fien to terminate his contract with the national rugby league club a year early.
Fien has a year to run on his contract but last week sought an early release so he could sign a three year deal with the Huddersfield Giants in the English Super League.
Last year Fien was told he wouldn't be offered a new contract when his current one expires, but Warriors CEO Wayne Scurrah met with Fien and says coach Ivan Cleary made it clear to him he's an integral part of the side's plans this year.
Scurrah also indicated there's now a possibility he could be offered a new deal.
