Breakers lose to Tigers on road as well

The New Zealand Breakers basketball side remain in third place in the Australian national league after a second loss in three days to the Melbourne Tigers.

The Breakers fared no better on the road against the Tigers, who beat them 96-89 in Melbourne after Thursday's 103-85 loss to the Melbourne in Auckland.

The Auckland side's fifth loss in six games comes despite the improving form and minutes of their star point guard CJ Bruton - but Breakers fans will be relieved to see him clock up 29 points and some more vital court time as he continues his return from an ankle injury.

Fellow guard Kirk Penney scored 23 points.

The Breakers now have a 16-9 win-loss record for the season.

The Tigers stay in second place while South Dragons are still top.
